Weekly Recurring Events

• Sunday mornings, beginning on May 2, 2010 – A Sunday Round-Robin for ALL BYC Tennis players. Play will start at 9:30 am and continue through 3 changes (approx. 11:30 am).
• NEW DAY Tuesday mornings – Tuesday Morning Open Tennis will start at 9:30am and continue to approximately 11:30am; ALL players are welcome.
• NEW DAY Wednesday Evenings – Evening Tennis to start at 6:30pm; it will include group Instructional Play with BYC Tennis Pro, Stan Kasta as well as Open Matches for those not wishing to participate in Group lessons.
• Friday Evenings, beginning on May 7, 2010 – BBQ Round-Robins will start at 6:30pm and run until approximately 7:30pm with three 30-minute sessions for doubles teams that are either mixed or by gender. A $5 contribution will be required to enter. After the first session, individual scores will be logged. The winners will advance one court (#) and split; the losers will remain in their court, but split. A second, and then a third 30-minute session will be played and scores logged. At the end of the third session, scores will be totalled and the player with the highest score will be awarded a FREE BBQ DINNER and choice of drink. Any excess funds will be deposited in the Tennis Fund and aimed towards Tennis Court Fence Replacement.

Upcoming Events

• Saturday and Sunday, June 12^th and 13^th – The 2^nd BYC “In and Out” Tennis Tournament. All play will be in Doubles Teams with one member and one non-member. Play will not be divided into women, men or mixed categories. Although the aim of this tournament is to introduce BYC to Ottawa non-member tennis players, a significant first prize has been anonymously donated; 2 tickets to the Semi-Final match of the Montreal Masters Tournament to be held on Saturday, August 21^st. • Wimbledon Sunday (Strawberries and Cream), July 4^th from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Lower Lounge. Champagne will be available.
• The Annual BYC Tennis Championships are scheduled to begin on August 29th and be completed not later than Sunday, September 19th. This year we will try for one Division. Tournament Rules will be available on the BYC Website (http://www.byc.ca ). Sign-up sheets will be posted on the Tennis Bulletin Board on the Upper Deck from Sunday, August 1^st until entries close on Friday August 27^th.
• The Annual BYC Tennis Meeting will be convened on the Upper Deck at 12 noon on Sunday, September, 26^th. A Tennis Director for 2011 will be nominated to the Board.
• The Annual Tennis Awards Dinner will be held in conjunction with the Friday night Buffet in the Sunset Room on November 5^th.
• The Annual BYC Christmas Party (Organized by BYC Tennis) will be held on Thursday, December 2^nd.
• The Annual BYC Winter Tennis Round-Robin and Dinner will be held on the last Sunday in January 2011. Tennis will be played in two 1 /12 hour sessions that will slit into 45 minute games – Tennis will be played in the West Ottawa bubble beginning at 1:30pm, and will be followed by a dinner at BYC at 6:00pm.
