Regardless of age or experience, the Britannia Yacht Club and its affiliates are able to offer members the very best sailing and boating experience. The club offers its award winning Junior Club program (Learn to Sail) to youth 8 to 18 years of age. Non-members are welcome to participate in the fun summer activity.
As your child progresses through the various Canadian Sailing Association standards, they will become eligible to represent their club through the "High Performance Team". This group of dedicated racers is coached on the finer points of boat racing, and are encouraged to attend various regattas.
In partnership with the Ottawa Sailing School, Britannia Yacht Club offers programs to learn to sail or improving sailing skills on dinghies and keelboats for adults. This established school operates on the club grounds and its students are encouraged to take part in club activities. Via the Boat Syndicate programme, members also have the opportunity to share the use of a keel boat for the entire season at very reasonable costs for independant sailing and racing.
The Bytown Brigantine program is a one of a kind opportunity in the Ottawa region. Bytown Brigantine operates two traditional tall ship brigantines, S.T.V. Fair Jeanne and S.T.V. Black Jack. Bytown Brigantine strives to provide the highest standard of adventure, education and traditional seamanship training in a safe environment.
